Anju Tanwar

Health Educator

Anju Tanwar joined the Sanare Sanctuary in 2008, as a health educator.

She received her medical training at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in India, as an Obstetrics/Gynecologist (Ob/Gyn).

While in India, Anju owned and managed Janta Hospital, 3-floor surgical hospital where she would treat patients with gynecological issues, delivered babies and performed other surgical procedures. She also did an enormous amount of counseling; ranging from nutrition to postpartum depression. However, her toughest teachings were discussions with patients that gave birth to females; Unlike the United States, female babies are generally not welcome in India. Being a very successful MD, Anju would prove to the parents and in-laws of the new baby girl, that a female could truly make a positive difference in today’s world. Unfortunately, her words couldn’t always change ‘tradition.’ After 14 years of owning her own practice, she decided to relocate to the United States.

Being an incredible addition to the Sanare Sanctuary, Anju is able to continue her teachings as a well respected and loved educator. Quickly picking up the ‘American way of life,’ she currently works with professionals with varying specialties, manages the Sanare Sanctuary and educates patients on ways to be healthy from the inside out. Anju’s ultimate desire is to pursue her career as a Board Certified OB-GYN in the United States.
